Street Art: Joshua Allen Harris’ Inflatable Bag Monsters
by Artister on Monday, February 21st, 2011 | 50 Comments
Call us boring and simple-minded, but before we saw the work of street artist Joshua Allen Harris we never once considered the artistic possibilities of subway exhaust. Using only tape and garbage bags, Harris creates giant inflatable animals that become animated when fastened to a sidewalk grate. Steven Psyllos caught up with Harris recently to discuss his older works (including a bear and a giraffe) and unveil a new beast that looks not unlike the Cloverfield monster. Video by Jonah Green

@nusaik Yup, those are stick bombs. I have world-record stick bomb videos on my channel that you might want to check out…
Are those stick bombs?
@CampinCarl6661 That’s one of my synchronized domino spirals…
my favorite part was 1:44
@HottyRat I lost count on the fails, but I do remember the part with the mechanical duck took about a dozen takes. This took about 2 weeks total to complete…
how many fails did you get, and how much time did you spend on this?!
@123menboy1 Thanks, 123!
amazing
@armani896 Not a whole lot of money, maybe a few hundred dollars over all…
How much money did you spend on dominoes and those stick things and other stuff?
I mean its harder to not go crazy while doing that than actually doing it cause when i use dominoes when im bored to do tricks and stuff when i accidentally tip one over and they all start falling i get so mad i just wana break the dominoes
@armani896 The trick is to already be crazy before starting a project like this
I could probably do this if i had enough space and dominoes etc but i think after the first hour of trial and error i would bring out the sledge hammer and those table and dominoes would be in alot of different pieces.man how dident you lose your mind?!
@300Gabs Obrigado, 300Gabs!
